1. Introduction of how flight delays are treated.
Updates to benefit
Yes, but only under specific conditions. If operational needs prevent taking the DIL within three months, the company may pay it out at the employee’s ordinary rate.
Can I cash out my DIL instead of taking time off?
DIL should be taken as soon as reasonably practicable—ideally within four weeks of accrual and no later than three months. Examples include leaving for or returning from R&R a day early or late. Approval is required, via Workday.
When and how should I take my accrued DIL?
Employees accrue a DIL by working a full additional day outside their rostered schedule—such as on a rostered day off, weekend, or public holiday. Partial days or extra hours within a normal roster do not qualify. Accrual must be agreed in advance with your team leader, and recorded using Workday.

How do I accrue a day in lieu (DIL), and what counts toward it?
The days in lieu guideline is designed to recognise eligible employees when they work above and beyond their usual shifts.
If you're clocking extra time outside your normal roster, this benefit rewards your extra effort with time off.
This guideline outlines the process for accruing, approving, recording, and taking days in lieu across all sites.
