When does this benefit take effect?

Uplift of 20% to the base rate of pay for any shifts physically worked, in excess of contracted hours

Updates to benefit

  • Seek approval from their leader before commencing to work an additional shift.

  • Request additional days via Workday.

  • Once entered in Workday, site admin will be notified automatically and will ensure the shift is recorded in INX and sent to Payroll for processing.

When will my 20% uplift be paid?

How is my uplift calculated?

  • 20% uplift only applies to shifts that are physically worked beyond the contracted hours for the period.

  • The uplift is an additional payment of 20% based on the employee's base pay rate.

Example 1 - Employee has physically worked their shifts and did two additional days

The two examples below demonstrate how the uplift would or wouldn't be applied.

Eligible employees who have completed their full contracted hours for the month and take on additional shifts may receive a 20% uplift, acknowledging the extra effort involved in exceeding their standard workload.

Following the reconciliation of any physical shifts worked in excess of your contracted hours.

Only permanent, site-based operational employees up to Supervisor level are eligible. This includes Operators, Maintainers, Tradespeople, and Technicians (Communications, Dewatering, and Process Technicians).

Who is eligible to work additional shifts under this guideline?

For call outs, fatigue management is critical. Employees can work up to 16 hours per shift and 14 consecutive shifts, but must follow PL044 and APR049 guidelines.

What if I’m called out while on site?

In the event of travel delays at the end of the roster – no action is required. If the delay is longer than 6 hours, site leaders will record the delay in the relevant systems to ensure payment is made.

If an employee’s travel to site is delayed at the start of their roster, this time is paid as normal. Employees must remain contactable, available, and fit to work, i.e. not under the influence of alcohol.
